Yesterday we went to watch our granddaughter Reese's concert. It brought back memories from the times we went to watch our own children at their school events. I found it to be a happy evening even if it was crowded with people I don't know. Being with my family was a blessing.
The first concert was for a younger bunch than our granddaughter and I found it to be so funny that the "Christmas" program had nothing to do with the season but was about being green --- recycling. Ok! Well the choir looked like they were having fun. I missed the songs from my children's youth.... hurry santa, jingle bells, all I want for Christmas is my two front teeth; or the music from my youth Silent Night, T'waz the night before Christmas, Frosty the Snowman... sigh. I know things change but do they have to?

Beader?
I have been neglecting beading, probably because of my eyes. They sting and water when I try to work on the bead projects. Even so, I have taken on a big project for myself. My son Klinton asked if I would attempt to make an Alutiiq headdress for his wife. So I have been reading and looking at them online. There is not much.
The Alutiiq culture took a major hit when the Russian explorers entered the picture. Lots of traditions were lost in the invaders wish to be uppermost in traditions and then more when the government decided it was best for them to not speak Alutiiq. Wiped out so much and almost totally the Alutiiq language. Sad. But now one can hear the language and learn how to speak it but it is hard if there is no one to speak it with. Ah-hook.
Anyway. I am trying to bead.
I will post a picture when I can get to them.
